Pectoral Sandpiper
Calidris melanatos
Since the first record in September 1998 and now up to 2025 there have been a total of 11 individuals seen on the Severnside patch. All have been found in the New Passage/Northwick Warth/Pilning Wetland area. In both 2006 and 2020, two birds were seen. All autumn records have been in September and one adult was present in April/May 2022. For historical reasons I have included a digital image of a print of a video tape image of the first record I found on Northwick Warth Flash in 1998. How times have changed.
