Calidris temminckii . I was lucky to find the first Severnside record in the wader roost at Severn Beach in May 2004 when I heard an unusual but distinctive trill of a wader calling. Amazingly 12 years later in May 2016 I heard the same call over Pilning Wetland and was amazed to see the 2nd Severnside Temminck’s Stint land in front of me. Up until 2024 there have now been 6 records occurring in May, June and July and we still wait for an Autumn record.
